There
doesn't seem to be, no matter where
we might look, a one-size-fits-all style of
writing. Just as there is no one colour
or flavour to suit everyone, there is no one
way of sharing our emotions--the pleasure, sadness
and joy of living--that's going to appeal to
everyone.
This
is my philosophy, that in writing,
if it works for you, it's good writing! How's
that? Am I arrogant? Surely, I'm
a know-it-all? Quite the opposite, you
may decide.
Think
on this…
When
I was chef/owner of Despina's International
Café & Salon Gallery, during
a wonderful wine tasting dinner that we hosted,
the wine maker, Charles Mitchell, said to the
group, "I'm often asked, Is this good
wine? or What makes wine good?
and I have to say this--if it tastes good to
you, then it's good wine!" Much laughter
filled the room and a huge burden was lifted.
After all, why not? Why not let
the wine which brings pleasure to your tongue,
be the wine which is the good wine? This
makes sense to me. How about you?
In
bringing to you immediate publishing downloads
of poetry, of recipes and of short stories--why
not offer you all that we can find and let you
decide which of these speaks to you?
Absolutely!
That's
why we said, make it so, and
so it is. The best thing is…you
choose.
